Rhwyddlwyn Pigog
Spiked Speedwell is a perennial herb of well drained soils. It can be found on thin calcareous grasslands and limestone rocky ledges and slopes. It will grow in open, short infertile calcareous grasslands.
It features vivid blue flower spikes, consisting of many small blossoms that rise above the foliage, creating an elegant display. Each tiny flower has fine petals that stand out against the lance-shaped, toothed leaves along the stem. Blooming from June to August, the plant adds colour to summer gardens and attracts pollinators such as bees and butterflies with its bright hues and nectar.
The plants we supply are from the native sub species (hybrida) found in Western Britain and of Gower provenance.
