SEA-HOLLY Eryngium maritimum

A native perennial found on coastal sand dunes and shingle. It's no relation to holly, as the leaves suggest, or thistles which the flowers resemble, being in fact being a member of the carrot family. A favourite of many pollinators, including hoverflies. Will grow in a garden in free-draining soil or poor soil/gravel in full sun.

Flowers: July to August
