A perennial herb that occurs in coastal habitats and on sea cliffs, shingle banks and salt marshes. It produces distinctive small-blue flowers in clusters. Perfect for gravel gardens and rockeries, even green roofs.
It's extensive root system means that it plays an important role in saltmarsh stabilisation, helping prevent coastal erosion.
Endemic to Britain.
