Prickly saltwort, also known as Salsola kali, is a plant with various ecological, economic, and medicinal uses. It's a halophyte, meaning it thrives in salty environments, and is known for its abilitu to improve soil conditions and even help in the remediation of heavy metal contamination.
It is a woody annual of sand and shingle beaches. It has declined rapidly due to the pressures from recreational activities.
