Lesser Quaking Grass is a rare and distinctive annual grass, known for its delicate, nodding heart-oval shaped spikelets that tremble / shiver in the slightest breeze which gives the plant its common name.
This annual grass is typically found in open, disturbed, or low-intensity farming areas, poor cultivated soils, roadsides and walls, waste ground and gardens and meadows. Briza minor is smaller and more slender than the common variety, with notably smaller spikelets, The spikelets of Briza minor are green with a subtle purplish or golden tint.
