HORSESHOE VETCH Hippocrepis comosa

An attractive mat-forming vetch found in chalk and limestone districts where it grows on very thin soils or in rock crevices, that are in full sun. It attracts many pollintors and it is the larval foodplant for two scarce butterflies, the Adonis Blue and Chalkhill Blue.
