Gwyddfyd
A perennial deciduous climbing shrub, found in woodlands, hedges and scrubby areas. Highly fragrant cream and red tinged flowers are produced in the summer, followed by red juicy-looking berries.
Hugely valuable to wildlife, particularly bees and nocturnal insects, when the fragrance of the flowers is at its strongest. The ripe berries are a feast for the birds in the autumn.
A species in decline.
Height: 4-8m
Flowers: June to September
Colour: Cream and red
