A  perennial plant that looks very much like a Dandelion, occurring, often as a pioneer, in a wide range of moist or dry, often disturbed habitats. It thrives on damp waste/disturbed ground and roadside verges.

 Its early flowering season makes it a valuable food source for pollinators in the early spring.

The plant spreads through underground rhizomes and seeds.
