Wild Carrot is a biennial umbellifer. It prefers infertile, well-drained, typically calcareous, soils of rough grassland, verges, quarries, waste ground and field margins. The lacy white flowers, tinged with pink are appealing in flower schemes.
Wild Carrot, attracts a wide range of pollinators. The distinctive hairy seeds resemble a bird’s nest and are an important source of food for birds in winter.
