A perennial, native, shuttlecock-forming fern that get's it's name from the fact that the leaf is long and elongated and is thought to resemble the tongue of a deer. It also has a curly tip at the end of the leaf. It is a very robust fern with very attractive glossy leaves. It makes an excellent addition to a shady area of a garden.
Suitable for woodlands, hedgerows, gardens, green roofs, green walls, stone walls.
Provides excellent ground cover for insects and small mammals.
