The pretty star-like white flowers brighten up hedgerows and woodlands in the spring time, with a sprinkling of star like flowers scattered amongst other vegetation. As spring advances more and more flowers appear. The name Stitchwort is a reference to a herbal remedy in which this plant is used allegedly to cure that pain in the side known as 'stitch' following vigorous exercise.
