CHAMOMILE Chamaemelum nobile
CHAMOMILE Chamaemelum nobile
Camri
Chamomile is an asbolutely stunning fragrant perennial plant, found on seasonally wet grasslands, grazed commons/pastures where mown. Suitable for short lawns, which when walked on, produce a fragrant smell. It produces carpets of flowers during June and July. Its aromatic leaves are generally avoided by grazing animals, enabling the species to flourish in open pastures with nutrient poor soils.
It has suffered significant declines in modern times and now has a highly restricted range due to habitat loss in the UK and is only known from two locations on Gower.
Next year, we will be supplying trays of Chamomile turf, that can be laid directly into your lawn. Watch this space!
