Bee Block
Bee Block
Large bee blocks with hole sizes ranging between 2mm and 10mm. Very stable when free-standing on a sheltered wall or other solid surface. Light enough to be mounted on a wall or fence post. Blocks should be ideally positioned 1m off the ground in full sun, facing south / south east in a position where the bees can be observed and enjoyed. The blocks are suitable for attracting a range of solitary bees such as the Red Mason Bee (Osmia bicornis) in spring, with Leafcutter bees (Megachile spp.) later in summer. Other species likely to be be attracted include Sharp-tailed bees (Coelioxys spp.), Harebell bees (Chelostoma spp.) and Yellow-faced bees (Hylaeus spp.), plus several harmless solitary wasp species. Perfect for gardens or any other green space to help support pollinators.
