Wild Thyme, or Mother of Thyme, is a perennial plant in free-draining soils, on chalk, or limestone. It likes dunes, short grasslands on heath, mountain cliffs, rocks and ledges. A species in significant decline.

It grows as a low creeping mat, with pretty purple flowers and is an super plant for rockeries.

Excellent for pollinators.
