Melyn-gu
An impressive tall biennial with a flower spike of small greeny-yellow flowers that turns orange as it matures. Found on disturbed ground, roadsides, quarries and field margins, and can be grown in gardens and rockeries. Not native, but an archaeophyte, possibly brought to the UK for its use as a yellow dye plant.
Very attractive to yellow-faced bees like the nationally scarce Mignonette Yellow Faced bee.
Height: Up to 150cm
