TWAYBLADE Neottia ovata
Pickup currently unavailable at Celtic Wildflowers Nursery
Twayblade is a charming native orchid found in grasslands, woodland edges, hedgrows, sand dunes, dune-slacks and meadows across the UK. A perennial plant found on a wide range of calcareous to neutral or, less often, mildly acidic soils. Its habitats span a range from full sun to deep shade. Recognisable by its two broad green leaves and delicate spikes of yellow-green flowers, it's pollinated by small insects.
Easy to overlook but fascinating up close, this subtle wildflower adds biodiversity and natural beauty to wildlife-friendly spaces.
