Tormentil is a is a native perennial plant, typically found growing in acid grassland, meadows and hedgerows, heath and moorland. It has bright yellow flowers with four petals and flowers May to September attracting bees and small pollinating insects. Tormentil’s leaves are deeply lobed and have a rough texture. The foliage tends to form a low-growing, mat that spreads on the ground.
