Gingroen Cochlas

Commonly known as Purple Toadflax. It was introduced in 1599 and naturally occurs as an outcast on pavements, walls, waste ground, roadsides, banks, refuse tips and in quarries. It is a slender, upright herbaceous perennial plant that belongs to the plantatin family. It is widely celebrated in cottage gardens for its elegant structural presence, it features narrow, grey-green leaves and tall, vertical spikes packed with small, nectar-rich flowers that closely resemble miniature snapdragons.

Provides continuous, vibrant colour over a long period from late spring to early autumn.

Acts as a significant beacon for pollinators. It is heavily visited by bees, butterflies, and moths due to its abundant nectar.
