Great mullein is a very tall biennial with yellow flower spikes and furry leaves, found on waste ground and verges. It grows well in gardens in dry and sunny spots and in shallow soils. Its many flowers are popular with bees. Makes a great addition to a stony wildlife or sensory garden.
