Enchanter's Nightshade is a perennial herb of moist, shaded habitats, including both ancient and secondary woodland, hedgerows, scrub, streamsides and riverbanks. It likes heavy, rich soils.

Clusters of small delicate pinky-white flowers can be seen in summer. It can be found in woodlands, hedgerows, and gardens. It has oval leaves that are rounded at the base, pointed at the tip.
