Common Bird's-foot-trefoil is a native perennial plant that has many beneficial attributes, making it a key species for invertebrate conservation in the UK. So named, as the seed pods resemble bird's feet. Also known as 'Eggs and Bacon'. Found in a variety of grasslands and meadows. A great species for green roofs and gravel gardens.
Foodplant of the Clouded Yellow, Common Blue, Dingy Skipper, and Green Hairstreak butterfly.
A species in decline.
