Bythinian Vetch is a scrambling annual herb of rough grassland on coastal undercliffs, and inland in open hedges, scrubby grassland and on railway banks. It is a graceful, climbing annual that combines ecological value with natural beauty.
It has delicate tendrils and soft, pea-like flowers create a light, airy look—perfect for wildflower meadows, informal borders, or weaving through grasses.
Its blooms are a magnet for bees and other beneficial insects, helping to support a thriving garden ecosystem.
This hardy legume is well-suited to low-fertility conditions, making it ideal for restoration projects and low-input gardens.
Like other vetches, Vicia bithynica fixes nitrogen, naturally boosting soil health and benefiting surrounding plants.
