SPINY RESTHARROW Ononis spinosa

Spiny Restharrow is a semi-evergreen perennial shrub of calcareous grasslands. It can also be found near the coast. It has showy pink and purple pea-like flowers with stiff spiny stems.

Spiny restharrow makes a great addition to any wildlife area, doing well in cottage or gravel gardens, rockeries, banks and slopes which are in full sun.

A species in decline and quite a scare plant in Wales.

Excellent for pollinators.
