A perennial herb and member of the bean family. Very similar to Red Clover, but the flowers are richer in colour, with narrower leaflets that lack the familiar pale 'V' mark that Red Clover has . It can be found on unimproved soils, neutral grasslands, roadside verges, hedges, wood edges and colliery spoil. Produces attractive globes of purple flowers.

Super attractive to pollinators.
