FIELD MAPLE Acer campestre

A long lived, deciduous, pollution fighting tree. The UK's only native maple. It makes a superb hedging plant and it produces the hardest timber of any European maple. The green leaves turning a rich golden colour in the autumn. Grows well in moist soils, except water-logged conditions.

An all-round tree for wildlife.
