Species Description

Wild Carrot (including the maritime sub-species Sea Carrot) is a native perennial which grows 30-50 cm in height and produces its distinctive umbels, which open and close like an umbrella, between June and August. This is a very important species ecologically as it not only does it host a good number of associated invertebrates, but also because supports a high invertebrate biomass at sites where it is frequent in the sward.
