PAPAVERACEAE

YELLOW HORNED-POPPY Glaucium flavum

Yellow Horned-poppy is a native short-lived perennial herb growing 20-40 cm in height and flowers from June to October. The distribution of this plant is restricted by its highly specialised requirements and whilst it is principally found on coastal shingle ridges, it thrives locally on artificial ridges of slag waste in areas of steel production.
